Why is quitting so hard?
An urge often starts with a trigger. Stress, boredom, being alone or a late night with your phone can each start one. When you give in again and again, the trigger, the urge and the habit become a loop.
Willpower alone is hard to keep up. Reboot gives you structure: a short daily routine, a check-in that records your triggers, and help at the moment an urge hits.

How does Reboot work?

Answer a few questions and get your plan
Tell Reboot about your habits and your goals. The app shows a short result and builds a recovery plan for you. The result is an indication only. It is not a diagnosis.
Do your short daily routine and check in
Each day, do a few short tasks, such as meditation, breathing or visualization. Then check in. Record your victories, your triggers, your mood and your sleep.
Watch your progress and level up
Each task earns stars. Stars take you up the Reboot levels. Your trends show how your days change over time.

Research
What does the research say?
The WHO ICD-11 lists compulsive sexual behaviour disorder (6C72). Kraus and colleagues explain that the WHO groups it with impulse control disorders, not with addictions, and that distress from moral judgment alone is not enough for a diagnosis. The NHS says that stress can trigger addiction and that addiction is treatable.
Reboot is a self-help app. It does not diagnose or treat any condition. If porn use causes you distress, a doctor or a therapist can help.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is porn addiction a real diagnosis?
Porn addiction is not a formal diagnosis. The WHO classification ICD-11 has a related condition, compulsive sexual behaviour disorder (6C72). It is a lasting pattern of failure to control intense, repeated sexual urges that causes marked distress or problems in daily life. Only a doctor or a mental health professional can diagnose it.
Am I addicted to porn?
Only a professional can tell you. The NHS describes sex addiction as sexual behaviour that feels out of control, causes you or others distress, or affects your life and relationships. If your porn use feels like this, Reboot can help you build new habits, and a doctor can give you advice.
What is rebooting?
Rebooting is a set period in which you stop watching porn, and often stop masturbation too, to break the habit. Reboot gives you a plan, a daily routine and daily check-ins for this period.
How long should I reboot for?
It is different for each person. Many people set a goal of 90 days. In Reboot you choose a streak goal, and the app shows your progress toward it.
What does a clean day mean?
A clean day is a day with no porn and no masturbation. In Reboot, it counts as two victories: a porn victory and a masturbation victory.
Is Reboot against sex?
No. Reboot is sex-positive. The aim is to help you get control of a habit, not to judge sex or you.
How does the Reboot app work?
You answer a few questions, and Reboot builds your plan. Each day you check in and record your victories. With Reboot Plus, you also get a daily routine of short tasks. Tasks earn stars, and stars take you up the Reboot levels.
What does the daily check-in ask?
The basic check-in asks about your victories. The upgraded check-in also asks about temptations, triggers, mood and sleep. Your trends update each time you check in.
Can other people see my data?
Other Reboot users cannot see your data. You can also lock the app with a passcode or Face ID.
Does Reboot replace professional help?
No. Reboot is a self-help app. It does not diagnose or treat any condition. The NHS says that addiction is a treatable condition and that your GP can give you advice. If you are in crisis, contact a local emergency number or crisis line.
